2026 UIU National Convention.
In August 2026, the Onitsha Ado Young Professionals had the honor of attending the Umu Igbo Unite National Convention in Chicago, Illinois.
Umu Igbo Unite is a cultural promotion organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich norms, values, traditions, and heritage of the Igbo people. Each year, they host a national convention aimed at strengthening connections among first-generation Igbo Americans and creating a platform for celebrating and passing on our culture to future generations.
The Onitsha Ado Young Professionals were honored to be part of this remarkable gathering. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow Igbo professionals, celebrate our shared heritage, and proudly showcase the rich and beautiful culture of Onitsha.
We are grateful for the opportunity to represent Onitsha Ado and to contribute to the continued promotion and preservation of our Igbo culture.
Members and Faces.
The convention was a four-day celebration filled with love, connection, cultural pride, and enjoyment. One of the highlights was our cultural group’s special performance of the Agbogho Mmuo masquerade, which allowed us to proudly share and showcase a beautiful part of our Igbo heritage with everyone in attendance. It was truly a memorable experience celebrating our culture, traditions, and unity together.
